Perama

The Perama caves are located 4kms north of Ioannina in the delightful village of Perama.  It dates back at least 2 million years and is Greece's largest horizontal cave system in terms of its area (14.800 sqm) with an interior lenght of over 1km, comprising several chambers and labyrinth passage ways.  The spectacular stalagmites and stalagtites, of which, there are 14 different types can be observed by visitors daily, on a guided tour along the 1km long illuminated pathway.
